Nail varnish is an impermeable, hard, smooth, shiny film, often combined with a colourant. Varnishes are formulated using hardeners and covering agents made up of resins which may be combined with other polymers, plasticisers and emollients, a solvent (which determines the evaporation and deposition time) and mineral and organic pigments.
